This rare example by Cecil Toys is in effect a scaled up version of the Budgie Toys Scammell Scarab number 238 model in British Railways ‘blood and custard’ livery. Fitted with a friction motor, it is a faithful larger scale plastic replica of the original.  ‘Buy Cecil Toys’ advertisements replaced the ‘Cadburys Dairy Milk’ of the Budgie Toys version, and it was packaged individually in an end flap cardboard box with colourful artwork. At 215 mm in length the model scale is about 1:35.
