First introduced in 1935, the Karrier Cob was available with a number of trailer options and in a variety of liveries, it was also as part of a set that included four or five trailers.. Production stopped in 1941 but began again after the war. The original price was three shillings and one penny (16p).

Notes:
There are two versions of the Mechanical Horse Cab (No. 33a) to be found: early castings have a short step (2.5mm0 beyond the trailer slot, whilst later ones have a longer (9.5mm) step.
The Flatbed Trailer (33b) and Dropside Trailer (33c) were both available in the following colours: Red, Green, Blue and Yellow.
The Box Van Trailer (33d) was available in four liveries: Green, Green with ‘Meccano Engineering for Boys’ decal, Green with ‘Hornby Trains British and Guaranteed’ decal and Blue with ‘Hornby Trains British and Guaranteed’ decal.
The Dust Wagon Trailer (33e) was a tinplate insert supplied with a Dropside Trailer (33c) and was available in three liveries: Green insert (usually with a grey trailer), Light Blue insert (usually supplied with a yellow trailer) and Yellow insert (usually supplied with a blue trailer).
The Petrol Tank Trailer (33f) was a tinplate tank supplied with a Flatbed Trailer (33b) and was available in four liveries: Red Tank with Green Trailer, Green Tank with red Trailer, Red Tank with ‘Esso’ decal with Green Trailer and Green Tank with ‘Wakefield Castrol Motor Oil’ decal with Red Trailer.
