In 1970 John Day first launched his iconic range of 1:43 scale white metal racing car kits, a series which ran until 1980. After a period of time out of the kit business, in the mid 1990s he introduced the ‘John Day Scenics Range’ of 1:76 scale white metal kits designed for the model railway enthusiast. Included in this range was the Ford Tug Mechanical Horse, the only commercial model of this strange and unsuccessful vehicle
John Day passed away in 2006, and after being run by his family for a period of time, in 2010 the ‘John Day Models’ business was passed over to Daryle Toney who still produces this kit
