TAL Developments Mechanical Horse ✅

This mechanical horse model is believed to date from the late 1940s, but doesn’t closely resemble the original vehicle. It is similar to the Sundaw Products from the same era.

The model has metal wheels and a smooth trailer floor, and the tractor and trailer units were spray painted on trays after assembly, leaving the undersides and inner wheel as bare metal. The single front wheel is mounted on a swivelling fork riveted to the cab casting, allowing the model to perform the tight steering manoeuvres of the original vehicle. All the wheels are the same size and the same colour as the parent casting, and there are no decals or trim applied.
The trailer is connected by a pin inserted into a boss on the tractor. For no apparent reason, two pins are provided on the trailer allowing for two different length variations.
Known   tractor colours are red, light blue, dark blue, mustard yellow. Known trailer colours are red, dark blue, mustard yellow, green.

The club would appreciate any information regarding other colour versions. Model size is 159 or 170mm long x 52mm wide x 45 mm high.

Models were individually packaged in a plain unlabelled brown cardboard box.
